  • REI Affiliate Program

Houston Fit Adventure Racing is proud to announce our participation in REI's Affiliate Program. This program rewards our club for purchases that members and friends make through REI.com. All you have to do is click on the link on our home page under Affiliate Program and start shopping!

Houston Fit AR will earn a small commission on every order placed through the link on our website. All monies earned will be put back into the club in order to build our gear library and provide us with cooler giveaways for our mock races and other occasions. So, please remember next time you place an REI order, do it through our website.

More often than not, athletes ask me "What is a well balanced diet? What should I be eating to help me perform at my best?" They feel overwhelmed by the seemingly endless list of nutrition don'ts. Don't eat white sugar, white bread, processed foods, fast foods, french fries, soda, salt, trans fats, butter, eggs, red meat... You've heard it all, I'm sure.

Why We Are Addicted To Adventure Racing

By Robyn Benincasa, featured in Adventure World Magazine's February 2008 issue. Visit www.adventureworldmagazine.com.

Ahhhhh, the million dollar question. What makes Adventure Racers so rabid about a sport in which there are so many variables that it boggles the mind and soul?

Primal Quest Announces New Sprint Series

NEW! From the directors of Primal Quest Expedition Adventure Race - "The World's Most Challenging Human Endurance Competition"!! A series of shorter, faster, high energy, adrenaline-fueled sprint races!

The 4-to-6 hour Primal Quest Sprint Series events are perfect for adventure racers, runners, mountain bikers, paddlers, triathletes and any other athlete looking at for a challenging and fun experience.

DFW Fit AR Spring Season Starts 3/25

Online registration for our sister city's spring season has begun, and we need your help spreading the word. I know a lot of you have north Texas roots, so let's see if we can draw on those to help ensure that DFW Fit AR has a successful 2008!

    Guest Passes

Every member is entitled to two guest passes for this season. Each guest pass is good for one person, one practice (mock race excluded). This is a great opportunity to invite one (or two) of your friends to come and play with us one evening (or one Saturday). All your guest has to do is fill out the pass and bring it with them to the practice of their choice. Just make sure to turn it in to one of the Coaches or Organizers before practice starts.

We hope to see a lot of new faces out there this spring!

    REMINDER: Daylight Savings Time

Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour this Sunday, March 9th. The time officially changes at 2:00 am. Also, take a minute to make sure your forum time settings are correct. Time zone should be UTC-6, and the "Summertime" option should be checked Yes.
